Eyeliner tattooing is a permanent makeup procedure which delivers long lasting, perfect eyeliner that you can wake up to, 24/7. DOES EYELINER TATTOOING HURT?

Before and during an eyeliner tattooing procedure, topical anaesthetics will be used for your comfort. Although every client’s pain threshold is very different, some clients have fallen asleep throughout their entire eyeliner tattoo procedure whilst others may report a “scratching” discomfort sensation along the lash-line during their treatment due to the needle tip making contact with their lash roots.

IS EYELINER TATTOOING SAFE?

Eyeliner tattooing is safe but must be delivered only by trained – skilled and qualified professionals – as it is a procedure that is very close to the sensitive eye area.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING AN EYELINER TATTOO PROCEDURE?

There are 5 steps to an eyeliner tattoo procedure, which can take up to 2.5 hours:

1. Health assessment and hygiene preparation.
2. Application of topical anaesthetics.
3. Shape design.
4. Tattooing of your new eyeliner.
5. Perfecting and clean up.

A touch-up session (4 to 6 weeks after the initial treatment) will then be booked where we can further perfect your new eyeliner in thickness, shape and saturation.

WILL AN EYELINER TATTOO SUIT ME?

Eyeliner is a personal preference, therefore needs to reflect and compliment your individual features and personal styles. Some of our clients prefer “statement” eyeliners, and opt for bolder, thicker, or “winged” eyeliner designs, while others prefer just a lash enhancement to brighten and define their eyes. Whatever it is you are trying to achieve, your Artist will work with you in designing the most complimenting style to match your preferences.

HOW LONG DOES AN EYELINER TATTOO LAST?

Following the touch up session, an eyeliner tattoo can provide many years of enjoyment. As with all tattoos, an eyeliner tattoo will gradually fade over time, and a color boost is recommended once every 1 to 2 years to keep your eyeliner tattoo in tip top shape and color! The longevity of an eyeliner tattoo also depends on the client’s skin type, and other factors such as sun exposure, lifestyle, skincare products, sweat.

PRECARE CAUTION:

• NO alcohol or caffeine for 24 hours before the treatment
• NO eyelash extension on the day – please have them professionally removed at least 2 days before treatment
• NO skincare product containing retinal, AHA, vitamins A, C and E agents for 1-2 weeks before treatment
• STOP taking fish oil tablets (if you do) the moment you schedule your eyebrow tattoo appointment
• NO cosmetic injections around the eyes, temple or forehead areas for at least 2 weeks before treatment
• NO heavy workout or excessive sweat 24 hours before treatment
• The area on your eyelids and around your eyes may feel a little tender within the first 48 hours. Some may experience a little redness on the eyelids too, which generally will disappear within a few hours or so.
• It is extremely important that you remember not touch, scrub, scratch or pick at your eyes for 24 hours post eyeliner tattooing. This is because the inside of your eyes may still be numb from the Anesthetics, which means that you won’t be able to feel if you have torn the delicate corneal areas within.
• Fresh eyeliner tattoo will appear a lot darker and thicker than the final healed results, which takes place at between 6-8 weeks’ time. This is due to a 3 main reasons, the slight post treatment swelling, the Anesthetics used during the treatment, and the fact that all cosmetic tattoo will shrink in size and fade in color during the healing process.

AFTERCARE:

• Apply moisturizer for 2 days after implementation (2 times/day – morning & afternoon)
• Absolutely abstain from water for the first 3 days or until peeling.
• Do not apply makeup on the eyelids for 1 week after application.
• Do not use your hands to peel off the flaking skin on your own for the first 3 days.
• Stay away from any Caffeine or Alcoholic drinks for the next 24 hours if possible

Day 1-2: DO NOT touch your eyes under any circumstances

Day 1-7: NO makeup directly on your eyeliner tattoos

Day 1-5: Avoid work out or activities that involve excessive sweating

Day 1-14:  DO NOT directly wash your eyeliner, showers are fine but don’t make a point to wash them and always blot dry when wet

• Ensure showers are not overly warm as this would open the pores and drain your pigments
• NO skincare products on the eye areas
• Avoid any skincare product containing retinal, AHA, vitamins A, C and E agents
• Sleep with a clean pillowcase, on your back rather than stomach or sides
• Avoid touching the eye areas with unclean hands or at all
• DO NOT pick, pull, scratch your eyeliner tattoos. Allow the scabs (if any) to form and fall off naturally
• If the eyeliner tattoos get too dry, stretched, or itchy, apply a rice grain sized of the healing cream satchel provided in your care bag
• Be sure to book in your touch up session for between 6-8 weeks from the initial treatment date

From day 14 and beyond: gently wash your eyeliner with warm water daily and continue to apply the care cream given as needed

• Make sure book check-up appointment after 4 – 5 weeks
